Invention of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) contributes to the development of surface science, not only in fundamental scientific research but also in technological relevance in application.
During my master degree, I took advantage of STM and scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) to investigate the structure and electronic properties of graphene nanoribbons on Au (111) surface. What’s more, I did some surface self-assembly research of organic molecule, like the mechanism of growth of organic double layer film of CuPc/ P2O and CuPc/ P4O on Ag (111) surface.
In the future, I will continue to investigate the properties of organic self-assembly film on different substrate with the help of ultrahigh vacuum STM and X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS)
