The generation of chemical fuels using solar energy is deemed as one of the main strategies to address the global energy and environmental problems. However, how to utilize the solar energy in an effective and low cost manner is both attractive and challenging for the human society. I have extensive experiences in (i) synthesis of nano carbon materials and its derivative such as graphene, MWCNTs, and MoS2; (ii) synthesis of metal oxide and noble metal nanoparticles for catalysis.
My research project focus on synthesizing 0D/2D hetero-structures nanocomposition. The main objectives are: (i) exploring novel green quantum dots (QDs) with tunable size and band structure; (ii) synthesis the QDs combined multifunctional 2D platform used for solar cell, hydrogen (H2) production or photodetector.
