I joined Nanofemtomlab (NFL) in October 2017 as a postdoctoral researcher and specifically, I’m working on the development of efficient and stable Quantum Dot Sensitized Solar Cells (QDSSC). During my PhD, I worked with QDs for 5 years at Koc University and I graduated in January 2017. Development of stable NIR emitting QDs and their industrial use are within the scope of my PhD studies. I worked on an industrially funded project in that period and based on results a spin-off company was started. The aim of this project was the synthesis of stable and bright, colloidal NIR emitting QDs, with emission between 800-1100 nm in a low cost and green synthetic method, which is industrially viable for barcode generation application. During my projects, I have done the synthesis and characterization of all produced QDs. I have hands-on experience in characterization techniques including XRD, XPS, absorbance and photoluminescence spectroscopy, quantum yield, time-resolved luminescence and luminescence kinetic studies to determine the structure and understand the luminescence behavior of nanostructures. Now as a postdoctoral member of NFL group in INRS, by using my knowledge in the field of synthesis and designing QDs, I would like to work more on the energy applications of QDs/nanoparticles.
